What are Lumineers?
Lumineers are a new technology that allows porcelain to be made in very fine and thin pieces that can be treated and bonded directly to enamel. They are very strong once bonded to the outside of a tooth and do not require much of the tooth to be adjusted. Therefore, they can be done without anesthesia. NO NEEDLES. Also, they generally cover only the outside of the tooth, so they are not in the bite. Therefore, they are not subjected to the chewing forces and have fewer chances of breaking.
Generally, they are completely reversible, as they do not destroy tooth structure. So if for any reason they need to be removed, there is minimal effect on the original enamel.
